Yahtzee

Definition

A dice game where players roll five dice up to three times per turn, arranging them into scoring categories such as Full House, Straight, or Yahtzee (five of a kind) on a scoresheet. The player with the highest total score after all rounds wins.

Example Usage

I got a Yahtzee on my second roll and jumped to the top of the scoreboard.

Origin

Invented by Edwin S. Lowe and originally released as 'Yacht' before being renamed Yahtzee and published by E.S. Lowe in 1956.

Fun Fact

Rolling five of the same number (a Yahtzee) awards 50 points and is considered the highest-scoring combination in the game.
