Unicorn Club

Intermediate 🚀 Startup / VC

Definition

The unofficial group of founders and investors who've experienced a billion-dollar valuation or exit. It's exclusive, pretentious, and they'll definitely mention it.

Example Usage

After our Series D, we officially joined the unicorn club, which means we can now attend exclusive investor dinners and be insufferable about it.

Origin

Emerged after Aileen Lee's 2013 'unicorn' term became popular

Fun Fact

Joining the unicorn club doesn't actually guarantee success—many unicorns never become profitable
