showing feedback

Beginner 🏠 Real Estate

Definition

The brutally honest (or diplomatically evasive) comments agents collect after property showings, ranging from 'loved it!' to 'we could smell the previous owner's choices from the driveway.' It's Yelp reviews for houses, but the house can't respond.

Example Usage

The showing feedback came back saying the kitchen was too outdated and the price needs to drop by 50k—apparently avocado green appliances aren't making a comeback.

Origin

Formalized in the 1990s with the rise of MLS systems that allowed standardized feedback collection

Fun Fact

Agents often sanitize negative feedback before sharing it with sellers, translating 'this place is a dump' into 'buyers are looking for something more move-in ready.'
