Religious Nut

Definition

Someone whose religious beliefs are so extreme, performative, or disconnected from the actual teachings of their faith that they become a walking contradiction—preach humility while flexing wealth, or cherry-pick scripture to justify hypocrisy.

Example Usage

That televangelist in the $5M mansion preaching poverty is basically the definition of a religious nut.
