Definition

A foundational skateboarding trick in which the rider pops the tail of the board against the ground to make it become airborne without using their hands, allowing the skater to leap onto obstacles or achieve height.

She nailed her first ollie after practicing for weeks and was stoked to finally clear the curb.

Origin

Invented by skateboarding legend Alan 'Ollie' Gelfand in 1978; named after his nickname.
