Definition

Corporate-speak for goals that are supposedly measurable, achievable, and aligned with company vision, but in reality are vague aspirations written to satisfy management frameworks. They're the answer to "what are you working on?" that sounds impressive in meetings but means absolutely nothing. Bonus points if they include the word "strategic" or "synergistic."

The team spent three hours crafting quarterly objectives that were forgotten by week two when the CEO changed priorities again.

The act of coming up with ideas but making it sound like a sacred ritual requiring a facilitator, sticky notes, and at least one beanbag chair. It's brainstorming for people who think brainstorming isn't expensive-sounding enough.

A department that spends money but doesn't directly generate revenue, making it perpetually vulnerable during budget cuts despite often being essential. Where accountants go to find sacrificial lambs.
