Definition
To chop food into very fine, small pieces using a knife. The precursor to dicing that's even finer and more chaotic looking than its organized cousins.

Mince the garlic finely before adding it to the sauce.

From Old French 'mincier' meaning 'to cut finely'
Fun Fact
A minced garlic clove releases more flavor than a sliced one, which is why vampires probably prefer restaurant food.
