kaiseki

Advanced 🍳 Food / Culinary

Definition

A multi-course Japanese haute cuisine experience where tiny, meticulously arranged portions arrive in ceremonial succession, each one more artfully plated than your entire Instagram feed. This culinary art form values presentation, seasonality, and balance so intensely that you'll spend more time photographing than eating. Expect to leave either spiritually fulfilled or stopping at a convenience store on the way home.

Example Usage

We had a 12-course kaiseki dinner that was absolutely stunning, though I'm pretty sure course seven was literally three pieces of radish on a rock.
