Definition

Short for intelligence — information about the enemy or a situation. Not to be confused with the chip manufacturer, although both involve a lot of processing and occasionally overheat. The quality varies wildly from 'game-changing' to 'my cousin's friend heard something.'

Example Usage

"The intel suggested the enemy had 50 troops. Actual count was 500. Somewhere an analyst is updating their resume and hoping nobody notices."

The British spelling of mobilization, because apparently organizing military forces requires different vowels depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on. It means the same thing—preparing and assembling forces for deployment—but using this spelling lets you sound 20% more sophisticated in international defense conferences. The extra 'i' and 's' are purely decorative.
