stylistic

Intermediate 🎓 Education / Academia

Definition

The nerdy way of analyzing how writers choose words, structure sentences, and manipulate language to create mood—basically the difference between admiring someone can write and understanding why their writing gives you actual feelings. It's what your English teacher used to mark you down for ignoring.

Example Usage

The professor marked my essay down for stylistic inconsistencies in tone.
