Definition

A manipulation tactic where someone (usually at a party) fakes being sick to isolate themselves and solicit attention and sympathy from others. The longer no one checks on them, the more dramatic the subsequent appearance or exit—peak emotional hostage-taking.

Example Usage

When my girlfriend didn't notice me leave the party, she was sitting on the pity potty for 20 minutes before making a dramatic comeback.
