Lifting one repetition at a time with maximal or near-maximal weight, primarily used by powerlifters and Olympic weightlifters. The minimalist approach to sets and reps.

Today's program calls for heavy singles at 95% of my max, so I'll be resting more than lifting.

Working with singles allows athletes to practice maximal effort technique without the fatigue accumulation of multiple reps, but requires long rest periods that make workouts last forever.
