Definition

A practice game where your team plays against itself or a rival to prepare for the real thing. Like corporate team building but with actual athletic skill.

Example Usage

We had a scrimmage last Saturday to test out our new defensive formation.

Elite runners obsess over stride length, frequency, and efficiency while the rest of us just try not to look like we're fleeing a crime scene. Coaches will tell you proper stride mechanics prevent injury, which is true, but won't prevent you from discovering muscles you didn't know existed.
