Definition

A strategy-based board game of world domination where players command armies on a map of continents and territories, taking turns attacking neighbors, fortifying positions, and claiming new lands. Victory goes to the player who successfully conquers the entire world—or the last player standing.

We started playing Risk after dinner and it ended up taking four hours because nobody could gain a decisive advantage.

Origin

Designed by Albert Lamorisse and originally released in France in 1957 as 'La Conquête du Monde,' then published in North America by Parker Brothers in 1959.
