Definition

To suddenly change your sexual orientation and come out as gay after a breakup with someone of the opposite sex, allegedly prompted by the trauma or rejection of the relationship. A somewhat dated and questionable phrase rooted in stereotypes.

Example Usage

People joked that he pulled a Richard after his girlfriend left him, though he actually came out years later on his own terms.
