Definition
A hyperbolic reference to Orwell's dystopia, deployed whenever authority figures do literally anything mildly restrictive—bans, regulations, or even basic moderation. It's the internet's way of saying 'this is tyranny' while knowing full well it's probably just Discord moderation.
Example Usage
The school banned phones in class and someone immediately posted 'Literally 1984' in the group chat.
