Definition

Non-airborne qualified soldier in the Army, used by paratroopers with barely concealed condescension. Because if you haven't jumped out of a perfectly good aircraft, you're clearly inferior.

Example Usage

These legs don't understand airborne ops—they actually want to fly to the objective instead of jumping into it.

Origin

Airborne forces terminology, possibly from 'straight leg' infantry versus parachute infantry

Fun Fact

Despite the rivalry, legs and paratroopers end up doing the same job once on the ground—they just arrive via different levels of voluntary insanity.
