Definition
The fancy scientific way of saying 'basically round' without committing to calling something a sphere. Used when describing cells, crystals, or particles that are roughly equal in all dimensions but you need to sound more technical than 'blob-shaped.' Geologists and biologists love dropping this term to make simple shapes sound impressive.
Example Usage
The isodiametric cells in the plant tissue made identification easier under the microscope.
