Definition
An improvised ambush set up quickly with minimal planning when opportunity presents itself, because sometimes the enemy walks into your lap and you'd be rude not to shoot them. Opportunistic violence at its finest.
Example Usage
Enemy patrol approaching our position—set hasty ambush, weapons hold until my command.
Origin
Infantry tactics doctrine distinguishing from deliberate, planned ambushes
Fun Fact
Despite the name, 'hasty' doesn't mean sloppy—it's a specific tactical procedure taught to every infantry unit, just with less prep time than a deliberate ambush.
