Definition

A complete restoration of a device (computer, phone, etc.) to its factory default settings, erasing all user data and configurations. Unlike a soft reset, a hard reset removes everything and requires reconfiguration from scratch.

Example Usage

When the phone started glitching constantly, I performed a hard reset to clear out all the corrupted files.

Fun Fact
