An overly motivated service member who constantly seeks recognition and advancement, often at the expense of peers. The person who asks for extra homework.

Possibly from those who volunteered for machine gunner positions in hope of medals and recognition

Fun Fact

While individual motivation is valued, gunners are often socially penalized because their overachievement makes everyone else look bad.
