Force Multiplier

Definition

Anything that makes a military force more effective without adding more troops. It is the cheat code of warfare — doing more with less. Consultants later stole this term to justify charging $500 an hour for a spreadsheet.

"According to the General, good intelligence is a force multiplier. According to Private Jenkins, so is Red Bull and sheer panic."

Someone who decided military life wasn't for them and took the permanent leave option without filling out the proper paperwork or asking permission. Unlike someone who's just AWOL for a weekend bender, a deserter has fully committed to never coming back. It's the ultimate 'I quit' move, except with courts-martial and legal consequences instead of just burning bridges.

Threat Condition — a system for communicating the level of terrorist threat at military installations. It is DEFCON's anxious cousin, specifically worried about security rather than nuclear annihilation. Each level comes with increasingly inconvenient gate procedures.

Quick Reaction Force — a standby team ready to deploy at a moment's notice when things go sideways. They are the military's version of calling in the cavalry, except with more body armor and less dramatic horseback riding. Always on call, perpetually caffeinated.
