expiratory

Intermediate 🏥 Healthcare / Medical

Definition

The breathing phase where your lungs are basically firing everything out like they're evicting unwanted tenants. It's the exhale moment—when your respiratory system goes 'nope, keeping that CO2' and forces it out. Opposite of inspiratory, but far less inspiring.

Example Usage

The respiratory technician measured the patient's expiratory flow rate to assess how efficiently their lungs could empty.
