Definition

Attempting to memorize an entire semester of material the night before an exam, a strategy with approximately 0% success rate but 100% prevalence.

Example Usage

I spent the evening cramming for calculus, which meant I retained nothing by the time the test rolled around.

Etymology unknown, but slang has been used for this academic sin for over a century

Research definitively shows cramming impairs learning, yet students continue it because motivation mysteriously vanishes until deadlines.
