Definition
The fuel level at which an aircraft must return to base or proceed to alternate landing site, lest it become an expensive lawn dart. Crossing bingo means you're playing a very dangerous game of fuel chicken.
Example Usage
Viper 2-1, you're approaching bingo fuel in fifteen minutes—time to wrap up this patrol.
Origin
Aviation term from the 1950s, possibly derived from the game Bingo as a signal that time is up
Fun Fact
Different from 'joker fuel' (the fuel level to abort mission and head home), creating a hierarchy of increasingly urgent fuel-related panic levels.
