to succeed in an attempt at a chance guess for an answer to , usually accompanied by a gesture of throwing hands into the air.

Example Usage

In a game of Jeopardy, a contestant would buzz in but not have any real idea as to what the answer may be; they would then proceed to "annica," (also raising their hands in a gesture of not knowing) and get the question right.
