Adenoma

Intermediate 🏥 Healthcare / Medical

Definition

A benign tumor of glandular tissue. It's like your gland decided to throw a growth party, but at least it didn't invite cancer.

Example Usage

The colonoscopy revealed a benign adenoma that was removed before it could potentially progress to malignancy.

Origin

From Greek 'aden' (gland) and 'oma' (tumor)

Fun Fact

Most colorectal cancers start as adenomas. Early removal prevents the bad sequel.
